Electrolux Products Focus on Connectivity and Sustainability

In March of 2018 the Electrolux Global Connectivity & Technology Center (GC&T) revealed its latest collaboration with Purchasing and R&D. After several years of testing and exploration, GC&T and counterparts developed the world's first bioplastic concept refrigerator prototype. All visible plastic parts are made of bioplastics from renewable sources. The bioplastic for the refrigerator has a carbon footprint that is 80% lower than conventional plastics used today.

Earlier in March Electrolux launched its first connected steam oven with an integrated camera in Sweden and Norway. The CombiSteam Pro Smart camera provides a live feed directly from the oven to an iOS or Android device, offering consumers the opportunity to check on their food while they are not at home. The Electrolux app provides hundreds of professional recipes and consumers can send the recipe directly from their mobile device to their oven. The oven also enables consumers to remotely control the cooking process by adjusting the time duration or temperature. The CombiSteam Pro Smart is the latest example of how Electrolux is investing in connected appliances that enhance consumer experience.
